October is breast cancer awareness month, a time to reflect upon one of modern medicine’s greatest triumphs in curing a once-terminal illness. It’s also a time to appreciate the women in our lives and what they do to make the world a better place.
This month, the Wall Street Journal published a column titled “Where Are the Women? Behind Gender Imbalance at Startups”. Since this blog is dedicated to startups (past, present, and future), I thought it would be a worthwhile endeavor to consider the gender gap that most think of only in a corporate environment.
The principle challenge that is many startups are tech-focused, a field that is notoriously comprised of males. But it’s also important to consider all the many startups with female leaders. What keeps them from holding positions at startups other than their own?
